I’m Dr. LaShelle Easton, veterinarian and founder of Natural Animal Wellness. I started this site to create the world’s most comprehensive website on natural pet health.
As a pet parent, you deserve an ally to help you make the best choices for your furry friends. My goal is to be that ally, and give you the same information here as if you’d dropped by my office for a cup of tea and a chat.
We are committed to improving the health of dogs and cats by providing content you can trust, all of which has been written by licensed veterinarians with a passion for holistic health.
It Started with a Sick Kitty
I’ve been in your shoes.
Cat Mandu was sick, and her vet said she would probably need a steroid shot every month for the rest of her life.
That didn’t sit well with me, and I started to wonder whether there was something else we could do. Something more natural, to support her body rather than suppress it.
Back then, I had to rely on whatever books I could get my hands on, but I was always left wanting to know more, and not quite sure of what information I should trust.
Was raw food evil or was it okay? What about vaccines? Why did my vet recommend this or that?
Every time I learned something new, I wanted to know more. So much so, that I went back to school to become a veterinarian.
Since then, the internet has exploded with information, and you can find millions of pages about natural remedies for dogs and cats.
But… can you trust them?
I started to notice an alarming trend: many pet health websites contain inaccurate information. I’m constantly blown away by things that are completely false, or even dangerous. The problem is, these things are often sandwiched in a bunch of information that’s correct. So how do you know which parts to listen to, and what to ignore?
Worse, there are new websites popping up every day whose foremost goal is to make money, and their advice reflects that. Many of them use artificial intelligence to write their articles rather than real people. Scary.
Our approach is the opposite. We write each article with you and your pet in mind, with the goal of creating a comprehensive library of natural pet health information that you can trust. If we’re able to make a little money to support the site while we’re at it, great, but we’ll keep writing either way.
We’re so happy you stopped by. If you have a burning question you haven’t found an answer for, you can ask a holistic vet a question here.
Let us know how we’re doing. We’d love to hear from you.
